In 2002, Jacquetta graduated with Honors from Smith College, in Northampton, Massachusetts.   She graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2006.  During law school, Jacquetta was the recipient of the Herman Levy Endowed Scholarship for Commitment to Employment Law and the Eleven Easy Pieces Scholarship.  Further, Jacquetta served as an Articles Editor for the Santa Clara Law Review. Her article, Saving 17200: An Analysis of Proposition 64, was published in the law review in the spring of 2006. 

Jacquetta is an active volunteer with the Alexander Community Law Center where she serves as a supervising attorney and guest lecturer, and sits on the Advisory Board.   She is also active with the Labor and Employment section of the Santa Clara County  Bar Association where she acts as a presenter for various continuing education programs, including “Navigating the Bermuda Triangle: Leaves of Absence Under the FMLA/CFRA, ADA/FEHA & Worker’s Compensation.” 
Prior to joining Pierce and Shearer, Jacquetta was an associate with Hinkle, Jachimowicz, Pointer and Emanuel where she practiced almost exclusively employment law.  During this time, she participated in three trials and one binding arbitration.  In the fall of 2006, Jacquetta received a punitive damages finding at the conclusion of a sexual harassment and retaliation jury trial. 
In 2009, Jacquetta was named by Northern California Super Lawyers magazine as a “Rising Star.”
